Media Advisory (May 30): KIDZ BOP Joins MusiCounts to Surprise Toronto School

On Wednesday, May 30, members of the number one brand of music for kids, KIDZ BOP will join MusiCounts, Canada’s leading music education charity, for a special MusiCounts Band Aid Program celebration at Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Toronto. Before kicking off the KIDZ BOP LIVE 2018 Tour with their first-ever Canadian date at Budweiser Stage on June 1, the KIDZ BOP Kids will surprise students with a special performance and unveil $10,000 worth of instruments for the school’s music program.

The MusiCounts Band Aid Program instrument grant will be made possible by the The Acapella Foundation, a Toronto-based organization that supports programs and charities in Toronto whose goals are to improve quality of life for children. Currently Immaculate Conception Catholic School only has seven instruments in good working order for 110 students in the Grade 7 and 8 instrumental music program. The new instrument grant will allow more students to experience the joy of music for years to come.

The MusiCounts Band Aid Program provides school music programs in need with musical instruments and equipment. The instruments provided through this program (awarded in $5,000 or $10,000 value allotments) impact thousands of young Canadians and support diverse music programs that include everything from concert and jazz bands to rock band programs. To date, the program has distributed nearly $9 million in instruments and equipment to hundreds of school music programs across Canada.
