UNDER EMBARGO Media Advisory: 2019 CCMA Award Nominee Lindsay Ell to Join MusiCounts To Surprise Calgary School

CALGARY, AB – On Thursday, September 5, four-time 2019 Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA®) Award nominee and Calgary native Lindsay Ell, will join Canada’s leading music education charity, MusiCounts, to celebrate the $15,000 instrument grant that Father Scollen School in Calgary received via the MusiCounts Band Aid Program. To kick off Country Music Week 2019, Lindsay Ell will surprise students with a special performance and acknowledge the CCMA’s generous support of MusiCounts.

The MusiCounts Band Aid Program awards musical instruments and equipment to schools who need them most. In 2019, 96 schools across Canada received $1 million in instruments and equipment. Since 2013, the CCMA has been a significant supporter of MusiCounts, and this year $1 per ticket from the CCMA Awards broadcast on September 8 will be donated to MusiCounts.
